The Adirondack Cycling Advocates (ACA) was formed under Mr. Lloyd Mott’s leadership to provide safe and quality cycling in the southeastern region of the Adirondacks. A key goal of our mission is to educate the area youth on cycling safety. Cyclists are vulnerable to dangers on the roads and trails, so it is essential that they take precautions for themselves and others around them.
This year the ACA is pleased to announce an annual $2,500 Lloyd Mott Cycling Scholarship for a deserving High School Senior attending a fully accredited 2- or 4- year college/university or a licensed Trade School. We feel this is an opportunity to recognize a student that shows a passion to make cycling in our region a safer sport and mode of transportation.
For this scholarship, please write an essay that will elaborate on the education around the dangers of cycling in an unsafe space and what more can be done to ensure the safety of cyclists. A recommendation on how to improve the safety of cyclists should be explained.
