Event Details:
The Adirondack Cycling Advocates are hosting an informational forum to provide insight on the major impact investing in a quality bike/ped infrastructure would bring to Warren County. Presentations by well-known speakers will focus on three major highlights:
- The stimulation and growth of a strong robust economy
- a substantial increase in local economic activity through bicycle tourism
- the incentive to establish a healthy, vibrant, age-friendly community.
After the presentation, there will be an open discussion to brainstorm ways to increase funding, identify the essential improvement projects, recruit champions, and set timelines.

Description
In the past few years, the popularity of bike/ped activity has increased exponentially. Locally, there is a definite increase in people on bicycles and on foot – for commuting to work, and cycling/hiking/walking for exercise and fun. However, current infrastructure now in place does not protect a biker or walker from the dangers of our over-used trails and busy roads. Providing a quality recreational infrastructure is crucial to ensure the protection and safety of our local residents and visitors when using our roads, trails, and paths.
The Adirondack Cycling Advocates collaborates with local businesses, cycling organizations, environmental groups, and government officials to gain support for implementing the physical changes and investment necessary to become a bike-friendly community.
What is the key to future success? Community awareness and involvement is the key to success. With the voice of the community exerting its influence to improve our infrastructure, positive change will happen.
What is the reward? The reward for investing in the security of our residents and visitors will translate to a secure, stable, and positive economic future for our community.
