Bikeway Gates & Bollard Inventory Released by Adirondack Cycling Advocates

The Warren County Bikeway, one of the older trails in the country, was first constructed in 1978. A lot has been learned about bikeway safety and design in the intervening 40 plus years.  The Adirondack Cycling Advocates has released a study of the bollards and gates on the Warren County Bikeway.  This document covers the current design guidelines for the placement of bollards and gates. It then inventories these features on the bikeway, highlighting areas where improvements could be made for the safety and enjoyment of current bikeway users. There are then recommended actions.

November 2022: The report has been updated to include the Glens Falls Feeder Canal and Towpath Trail. The updated report is available here: link
